Ball Caps are soft caps with rounded crown and stiff bills in front. Originally intended as a form of eyeshade protection while playing baseball, this hat has become a part of everyday fashion. These hats are available with both fitted and adjustable sizing. Usually some sort of graphic is displayed on the front of the crown.
The first baseball hat adopted as an official uniform piece was by the New York Knickerbockers in 1849, but they wore straw hats that more resembled a porkpie hat than a ball cap. Modern day ball caps are based on a design worn by the Brooklyn Excelsiors in 1860. Since then, the cap has been a staple on pro baseballers and fans alike.
