Sometimes referred to as a Bush Hat, Australian Hats are identifiable by their flat crown and flat brim that ranges in depth from about 2 1/4 to 3 1/2 wide. Some hats have a wire in the brim for stability while others are wireless so that they can be folded up into a pouch when not in use. The bands are usually simple. Although designs differ, the most traditional band is a braided leather band.
