Originating in Ireland, Bucket hats were traditionally worn by fisherman and farmers as rain protection. Eventually gaining popularity with the English upper class this hat began to be worn while enjoying outdoor activities such as hiking.
This casual hat usually has a flat crown and floppy brim to shade the sunlight. Occasionally bucket caps have eyelets or mesh on the crown to for added comfort and venting. They are floppy and can be easily rolled for storage.
