Also know as a trapper cap or a bomber, the Aviator caps design is base on hats worn by the USA Air Force during WWII. Originally designed for uses in open cockpits were warmth was an issue, these hats are excellent insulators. The classic aviators were crafted from genuine leather with large earflaps and chinstraps. Today they are made out of many different materials. Some are lined for warmth while others have added compartments or snaps. In recent years these caps have become a fashion statement, commonly worn during the more frigid winter months.
