The lace lock snow collar on top keeps snow out. These boots have been Performance-tested and certified to -40˚F or –40˚C by the Center for Textile Technology in Quebec. At Kamik they test all their products in-house to ensure they meet their strict quality standards. Then they send them to an outside testing center (Performance Testing Council Inc.) for further rigorous tests.
