Sons Samir and Jorge Cury have carried on their father’s tradition of master craftsmanship, quality, and detailing to today’s younger generation of hat enthusiasts. Their up-to-the-minute designs integrate the original techniques passed down by past Hatters dating back to 1949. Special attention is put into each hat to insure distinctive design, value, fit, and finish.
Every Bullhide hat body has a hand dipped coating applied to it. The result is a finish that is hard-wearing, water-repellant and easily cleaned. Some companies run their hats through air-dryers, not Monte Carlo. Each hat is air dried, which takes a little longer but allows for a uniform curing of the stiffener. This prevents flaking and cracking. Then hats are blocked using a combination of pressure, heat, and of course care, giving each hat its final form and size. After trimming to the proper brim length and adding shapeable wires, each hat receives its exclusive finish.
Bullhide by Montecarlo hats are finished by hand which produces a unique look. Slight variations may occur due to material availability and their hand airbrushing method. Each item must pass their stringent quality control inspections.
